Competition for the development of Mutachstrasse and the Holligen Nord Bern neighbourhood park 3rd Rank

The competition project proposes urban development to complete the existing neighbourhood with a built ensemble that clearly marks the edge of the urban park with a row of residential flats. Three pairs of buildings composed of six straightforward corpuses make up a relaxed, open block set out around a semi-public interior courtyard. The projected volume creates a parallel exterior area to the north which fits in harmoniously with the existing neighbourhood structure. The new residential ensemble communicates with its urban environment through interaction between the eastern block perimeter development and the row of detached buildings to the west.
