Four short presentations in Pecha Kucha format covered a wide range of topics, from forestry to design practice and construction. One thing became clear: Timber has long since established itself as a building material, from both a technical and an ecological and aesthetic perspective. The discussion that followed focused less on the material itself than on its implementation: Availability, costs and scheduling remain challenges, particularly for large-scale projects. The new SIA 390.1 standard, which requires a holistic approach, is regarded as a significant step forward.
