The expansion of the climbing and bouldering hall in Ostermundigen blends seamlessly into the existing structure. The design concept of shaping a rock-like volume with narrow window openings, reminiscent of "rock fissures," has been retained. In contrast, the interior is built and materialized in wood. The timber structure, incorporating 428 m³ of material, has been awarded the Swiss Wood label, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere around the climbing walls and bouldering blocks. The building also includes an enlarged bistro, changing rooms, training rooms, and office spaces, providing all necessary facilities for smooth operations. Nestled against an existing oak tree, the new structure blends naturally into its surroundings, with only its vertical expansion hinting at its impressive, Switzerland-wide unique climbing height of 18 meters.
