Densification of the Strahmhof Centre at Münchenbuchsee

An integral part of the Strahmmatte development area, the new Strahmhof Centre on Oberdorfstrasse combines densification with high residential quality. It consists of a long building and two cubic elements which form a triangular residential courtyard, thus ensuring privacy. This type of layout, which shelters housing from street noise, has been replicated elsewhere in the neighbourhood. Parallel to the road, the long three-storey structure has been designed on the same scale as the surrounding buildings. Thanks to their slightly set-back position, the two apartment buildings, which both have an extra floor, blend in well with existing constructions.
