Description

The creation of the National Performance Center Western Switzerland (CNP) in Yverdon-les-Bains is based on the idea of repurposing spaces formerly dedicated to industrial activities. The project's architecture reflects the site's identity by establishing an expressive dialogue between the preserved industrial structure and the new facilities required for martial arts practice. The walls and sheds have been entirely painted white, highlighting their unique spatial character while ensuring optimal brightness. At the same time, the dojo takes shape through the integration of a new two-level volume for changing rooms and services, clad in wooden panels. A large tatami area, also framed in oak, completes the space. The result is a spacious, flexible, and bright loft-like environment, perfectly suited for physical, technical, tactical, and mental training.
