Description
Two new volumes have been added to the existing buildings. They follow the site geometry which shapes the available space. The volumes that are offset slightly in relation to each other form a continuous composition with the existing structures and match the scale of the site. The understated break in the continuity of the Eastern volume highlights the entrance to the building. An intervening inner space extends between the existing building structure and the two new volumes and joins the different parts of the building together in both the horizontal and vertical planes. It is the centrepiece of the new Zurich Innovation Centre, the hallmark of its new idendity and a platform for exchanges, representation and communication.
