Brückenkopf Bern - Conversion of offices into apartments

This 1960's office block is being converted into small flats (1.5 - 3.5 rooms) and studios in keeping with the motto "urban living". The slab and column architecture will be re-interpreted with a self-supporting static system, freestanding walls and a totally innovative façade. The qualities of different parts of the building determine the individual standard of the flats as well as being decisive in the openness of the re-designed façade. The top of the building thus opens up to focus on a communal roof terrace with an outdoor kitchen and rentable private roof gardens. Shops and services are planned for the ground floor area and the base level will be converted into lofts.
