Description

A new bouldering gym has opened its doors in Ostermundigen, based on the conceptual idea of a massive boulder with narrow cracks evocative of ‘rock crevices’. Using wood as a construction material, the building’s interior contrasts strongly with its outer shell to provide a pleasant environment for the climbing and bouldering walls. In addition, the building houses a restaurant, changing-rooms, offices and training classrooms, and has all the facilities and space required for optimal utilization. The new construction blends harmoniously with its surroundings and its vertical deployment is the only visible clue to suggest that it conceals an impressive 18-meter-high climbing wall that is unique in Switzerland.
