Brückenkopf Bern - Conversion of offices into apartments

This 1960's office block is being converted into small flats (1.5 - 3.5 rooms) and studios in keeping with the motto "urban living". The slab and column architecture will be re-interpreted with a self-supporting static system, freestanding walls and a totally innovative façade. The qualities of different parts of the building determine the individual standard of the flats as well as being decisive in the openness of the re-designed façade. The top of the building thus opens up to focus on a communal roof terrace with outdoor kitchen. Shops and services are planned for the ground floor area and the base level will be converted into lofts.
