Description

This transformation involves a complete reorganization of the museum’s reception area. The intervention aims at being both sober and resolutely contemporary, in order to establish a respectful dialogue with the original building, which dates back to 1853 and is heritage listed in the city. In the north, a new forecourt and a glazed cube mark the building’s entrance. In the south, the new glazing of the peristyle permitted to enlarge the foyer and to create a new space for the cafeteria.
