After graduating in Architecture at the EPFL Lausanne (1997), Emmanuel achieved a post-graduate degree in Architecture and Sustainable Development (1999), before achieving his doctorate at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL, 2006), for which he was awarded the Prix européen Gustave Magnel in 2009. As a partner since 2004 in the office Bauart, he has participated in numerous projects that have been published and exhibited in diverse contexts, as well as winning awards. Since 2010 he has also been Professor at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where he has developed the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST). In 2015, he was honoured by the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences with the swissacademies award for transdisciplinary research (td-award).
