Wankdorfcity 3 Bern: groundbreaking marks start of vertical urban transformation.

On May 14, 2025, a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony marked the official launch of Wankdorfcity 3 in Bern – a visionary project transforming a former industrial area into a dense, vertically organized urban district. Across 34,000 m², various uses will be stacked, including residential units, offices, shops, services, and cultural and leisure facilities. At a height of 30 meters, an urban terrace level will connect the buildings, creating green spaces for social interaction. In total, approximately 500 apartments and 55,000 m² of usable space are planned, with staggered completion until 2029. Bauart is one of five architectural firms jointly shaping the planning and identity of this new district. Our aim is to create spaces that enhance quality of life and atmosphere.
