On the WIFAG site in Bern, Bauart's project proposes an architecture that is both rooted in its immediate context and oriented towards the future. Buildings C and D mediate between the existing Wyler neighbourhood and the new, denser urban fabric. Building D plays a key connecting role with its articulated volume and carefully designed transitional spaces — such as open-air corridors, loggias and recessed entrances — conceived as places for encounter and appropriation. The architectural language draws on the site’s industrial history while relying on robust materials, reused elements and timber construction to reduce environmental impact. The apartments feature flexible layouts, cross-ventilated floor plans and generous openings, creating a living environment that is both spacious and adaptable.
