Massive densification for the next 50 years, harmoniously integrated into the urban context.

The urban development strategy for the Murtenstrasse perimeter envisions a significant densification over the next 50 years. The volumetric design has been conceived in such a way that, across all three construction phases, the new building maintains the scale of the surrounding structures and integrates seamlessly into the urban context as a "fitting piece" despite its high density. Another key challenge is the vertical stacking of various sensitive functions, including laboratories for clinical research and forensic medicine, forensic facilities, animal housing, and public-use areas.
