Thoughtful architecture: new structures bridge levels while honoring the existing buildings.

The project incorporates the slope between the original buildings located on the escarpment and the school complex. The new spaces are organized as if to create a deep retaining wall that fits into the pre-existing one. To avoid disrupting the area’s delicate balance, two flat, single-floor buildings are linked by a clearly defined connection between Schulstrasse and the upper recreation area. The sports halls, which allow for spatial scale adjustment, are located below the grassed sports field. The library on the second floor enhances the building from the west, thus counteracting the considerable height of the main building and the upper part of the school complex.
