The Institute for Infectious Diseases (IFIK) in Bern required additional laboratory space for research and diagnostics. A fast and temporary solution was needed to accommodate upcoming changes on the Inselspital Bern site in the coming years. The implemented solution can be dismantled and relocated to a new site after its period of use. Two pavilions were constructed, consisting of 7 and 9 modules respectively, each connected by a corridor to the listed main building. The column-free timber modules were specifically adapted inside to meet scientific and medical requirements, including ventilation, clean rooms, and laboratory animal housing
