The name “Besmer Plateau” reflects the very essence of the site. This elevated clearing, framed by forest and groves of trees, forms a distinctive landscape — open yet sheltered. The architectural approach is one of restraint: new buildings are positioned along the edges, preserving the integrity of the plateau and allowing its full spatial quality to unfold. A subtle rotation of the building volumes introduces diagonal sightlines, enhancing the sense of openness and visual depth. The butterfly-shaped roofs create a strong and recognizable silhouette, grounding the project in its context and lending it a unique architectural identity. Each apartment enjoys a privileged relationship either with the Lake of Constance or the canopy of the surrounding woodland. The shared open space at the heart of the site acts as a unifying element — a place of connection, belonging, and everyday quality of life.
