Sustainable renovation of a 1970s building – preserving its architectural identity while enhancing energy efficiency.

TransformationRealisedHousingAdaptive reuseRenovation

A specific intervention strategy was developed to renovate the two buildings and enhance their energy performance while preserving their expressive, typological, and architectural character. The approach includes a series of interventions on the building envelope, common areas, and a complete renovation of the kitchens and bathrooms in the hundred affected apartments. Particular attention was given to the selection of materials and the use of highly energy-efficient appliances. Additionally, each apartment is equipped with a monitoring system that allows tenants to track their own water and energy consumption.
