For expo.02, a 240-bed hostel in Neuchâtel was created in six weeks, using old train cars, covered and sheltered.

As part of the national exhibition expo.02, a temporary hotel by Swiss Youth Hostels with 240 beds was built in just six weeks near Neuchâtel train station. The project consisted of four decommissioned sleeping cars from the former Deutsche Reichsbahn, arranged around a continuous wooden platform. The entire composition was covered by a large tent structure, providing protection from rain and heat. A red wall facing the train station served as signage.
