Designed as a prefabricated modular wooden construction, the Limmattal Cantonal School, Affoltern am Albis branch, consists of four buildings: three volumes – designed by Bauart – are dedicated to classrooms, while one volume – designed by Pool Architekten – is dedicated to sports halls. In keeping with the topography of the site, the various spatial units are distributed around a central green area, which serves as a reception and relaxation space. Responding to the constant increase in the population of the canton of Zurich, this new temporary school complex will accommodate around 650 students from August 2028 thanks to its 18 classrooms and other specialist rooms (natural sciences, IT, music, etc.).
