On the Baumgarten site in Bern-Bümpliz, an intergenerational project led by three non-profit developers is being constructed. As the first phase of the project, Bauart is constructing a new timber building with 27 apartments for people relying on supplementary benefits. With its wooden façade, the building establishes a strong identity while maintaining a connection to the historic surroundings of Bümpliz’s old center. The apartments are accessed via an open walkway designed to encourage social interaction. A central laundry room and a communal space further contribute to the sense of community living. On the rooftop terrace, residents can enjoy panoramic views over the site.
